After configured the switches priority and downgrade the IOS version same to the master in 3750 stack.

then I connect the stack cable and power on the new 3750. then the boot process was hanged after the master election complete.

Hello Weng,

the following document can help

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/troubleshooting/switch_stacks.html

or

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750/software/troubleshooting/switch_stacks.html

However,

>> POST: No Cable found on stack port 2

you need to close a ring topology it looks like a cable is missing

you need to add a cable from last added switch to the first.

OR there is a cable that is faulty or not correctly plugged.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

I would also advise you upgrade both boxes . 12.1.14EA1 has to be like the first IOS they ever put on those boxes and could be part of the problem . The latest is like 12.2.52 SG .

Glen,

I agree on the upgrade part; however, the 12.2SG is for Cat4500 - you'll need 12.2(50)SE3 as the most recent.

HTH

You are right I got the last letter wrong , just was doing it off the top of my head. Should be SE not SG .

Hi all,

After upgraded the IOS of the switches, it can be stackable now. Thanks for your help.
