Cisco 3845 Reverse Telnet

Hi Everyone,

Would like to ask if anybody knows how to use reverse telnet in a Cisco 3845 router. Appreciate any help.

Hello Napoleon,

reverse telnet is a way to provide terminal server services

you need

A/S serial lines to be used to connect other devices' console ports to them or modems

the appropriate cables.

reverse telnet is part of this solution and allows to open a session on a line (an async line) when telnetting to a specific TCP port using a loopback address

TCP port = 2000 + line#

line numbers can be seen with

sh line

ip hosts command can be used:

ip host hostname 2004 10.99.0.51

Hi Giuseppe,

Thanks, but I believe I can use the router's aux port for reverse telnet, I just don't know the port number to use for the 3845. I used 2001 for a cisco 7200 but it doesn't work for 3845.
