DND and Hunt Groups

Unanswered Question

Do you know if there is any type of special configuration or conflict that can arise from DND and members of hunt groups….

I’ve got a client with an Office Manager who has 2 phones….one at the office and one at home.

She is also a member of a sequential hunt group.

For some reason her DND button is not available. It shows up in the Soft-keys but if she presses it nothing happens. She is using a 524G at home and work.

Here are the config snips:

Please note, that each of the sequential hunt groups in question have 3 members. The other users seem to be OK....their DND works.

Also, this particular user has three phones......one at the main office, and one at a remote office, and her home phone.

The main office has a username/password configured, but the other two do not.

Just additional FYI. I'm attaching the full config from this UC520.

Shared lines in hunt group can't have DND, from the CME admin guide;

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmednd.html#wpmkr1010332

Restrictions
•Phone users cannot enable DND for a shared line in a hunt group. The soft key displays in the idle and ringing states but does not enable DND for shared lines in hunt groups.

User wants three phones, one in each location to ring so she can pickup no matter where she is.
Parrellel/blast hunt group might be better choice here then using overlays in a regular hunt group.

Also to be clear on the commend;

hunt-group logout [hlog|DND],

This command tells the phone to use HLog Softkey or DND to cause the DN to not ring new calls from the hunt group.

if not enabled under telephony-service, by default DND stops calls from ringing the phone only,

if enabled with Hlog feature, then Hlog will stop calls from hunt group ringing, call direct to the DN will still ring.

if enabled with DND, then DND will stop both hunt group and direct calls to ring.

see this section for details;

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmecover.html#wp1130731

Understand with overlays though, the DND is only for the top DN, so the first DND would be muted, but calls to the second DN I believe will still ring, which may be of issue for this customer.

So Parrellel/blast hunt group is better way to go...

how does one enable "HLog" for users in a hunt group?

I added the HLog to the ephone-template softkeys, what else needs to be done?
