What is the best way to determine if a new IOS will fix any bugs that exist in the IOS that you are currently running? I've used Bug Toolkit in the past, but it only seems to tell me what bugs are prudent to that image. I'm needing to find out if an image I want to migrate to has addresses any potential bugs in an image I am currently running.

The reason for this is to make a more compelling argument to make the migration. We have a number of 7206VXRs and 3825 are are running early 12.4 and I want to move to 12.4(20T) or above to add a specific feature.

If you have the bug ID, go through the release notes.

Sometimes the bug toolkit will give out recommended version to migrate/upgrade to.

Bench test the configuration and IOS in a lab.

the release notes for a version of IOS (for example the release notes for 12.4(20)T) contain a list of resolved caveats which are the bug fixes present in that version of software. This would be an excellent place for you to look.
