Will a NM-1FE-TX work in a 2611XM? We need another Ethernet port and find that a NM-E1 is too slow. Or will a NM-1FE2W work?

Either will work but I recommend going with the latter as the former has reached its EOL status

Minimum software required 12.2(8)T - maximum modules in platform 1.
Edit: Table 3 indicates the module NM-1FE2W is only supported on 2691, thus you are out of luck in terms of support with the 2611XM

so...the NM-1FE-TX will work but the NM-1FE2W will not?

Neither module will work on your router.

See Table 2
You are limited to Ethernet modules..
