I have had experience with both and know that xmedius only supports t38 and ata only seems work correctly in passthrough. Has anyone experince running both with an MGCP gateway.

You can configure both for the MGCP gateway, but they will not be able to talk directly to each other.

Your config on the MGCP gateway will look something like this:

mgcp modem passthrough voip mode nse

mgcp modem passthrough voip codec g711ulaw

mgcp package-capability fxr-package

mgcp default-package fxr-package

no mgcp fax t38 inhibit (default)

Hi Nick,

Technically, if we set the fax server and ATA to send it out the PSTN and back, that could be a workaround if they want to talk directly to one another, correct?

For some reason, we tried that with RightFax and Cisco ATA's, but it's not working. Unsure why not.
