broadcasts high or not ?

I have noticed on my switch ports for my printer vlan, im seeing 13 broadcasts per sec on average, is this normal or high ? there arounf around 150 printers on the vlan.

I have this problem too.

Hello Carl,

connect a PC with wireshark on a port of the same vlan and see what they are: being broadcast you should receive them.

Also be aware that depending on platforms there can be a single counter for both broadcast and multicast frames.

Seems high to me too. Why would it even be broadcasting. Even if you are using DHCP that wouldn't account for that much traffic. Is it only IP or do you see other protocols (Netware, Appletalk, etc...) broadcasting?
