What is the difference between the command set ip next-hop & set ip default next-hop in policay routing..

Hello Bava,
set ip next-hop diverts traffic regardless of current IP routing table.
set ip default next-hop first looks at the IP routing table if an entry exists for packet destination normal destination routing takes place, if no specific route for packet destination exists the packet is sent to the specified next-hop.
Hope to help

Hello Bava,
see
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/iproute/command/reference/irp_pi2.html#wp1012080
specific route is not a default route, if a specific route for the destination is missing set ip default next-hop sends the packet to the next-hop.
the default route is not considered a specific route.
Hope to help
Giuseppe
