Hi all, i would be really grateful if someone can forward me in the right direction. In my ccie prep and real world troubleshooting, i often face problems where i dont get how ios is processing the packets.
Now on my surfing, i see ppl saying that few packets are always processed by cpu(RP) whereas most are forwarded to cache. Does cisco provides these details to others as well ? i dont think its
properiatery since without knowing exactly which packets are processed how it becomes real difficult to troubleshoot. I am also asking this to
become more proicient in my ccie prep as well. I have CCO login, so if there is any such doc or reference material pls tell me. So that if something is not working as per my expectation then i could relate to that doc or reference to figure out what is happening inside IOS.
Pls guide me, i am not asking for something that cisco hasnt made public, so if there is something available to CCO login ppl then pls tell me.
Thanks in advance

Dear Sir, i am mainly looking for router/IOS. There is sometimes confusion as to which process takes place at which time. I mean, consider GRE header, when its placed ? after what processing ? it helps a lot in understanding and troubleshooting.
Any help pls
