Since you have completed your BSCI, this has resetted your CNNA validation time also.Presently your validation time is Oct2012( i.e.you have to go for another CCNP paper before Oct2012)However, if you give another paper of CCNP say BCMSN the validation will again get reset to next 3 years for both CCNA and left over papers of CCNP as well(for eg if you give BCMSN or any other CCNP paper in the month of Jan10, your validation time would be then Jan10+3yrs=Jan2013)

Hope this answers your query

Best of luck for your CCNP

Thanks a lot Shahid for your quick response and helping me...But someone has told me the below mentioned thing..Please comment on this as that will help me in solving my query....Here it goes:

Well, you can only extend the validity of certifications but you cannot extend the validity of the single exams.

If you passed your BSCI let's say on October 5, 2009 then you must complete the track, i.e. pass the remaining exams, by October 4, 2012. If you pass the final exam just 3 days later then the BSCI does no longer count towards the CCNP and you have to do it again.

So in order to complete any CCxP certification you have to complete all necessary exams within exactly 3 years. However, once you achieved any CCxP certification, passing any professional level exam or CCIE written exam will reset the validity of those certifications to 3 years.

Hi Pratik,

You would have 3 years from passing the first CCNP exam to complete the remainder of the CCNP exams. If you passed the BSCI in October x 2009, **all of the remaining CCNP exams would need to be completed by October x 2012 :)

Do certification exams expire?

* CCENT, Associate and Professional level 642 exams are valid for three years from the date the exam was passed. Specialist focused certification exams are valid for two years from the date the exam was passed.

* Placing expiration dates on exams ensures that candidates starting a multi-exam certification such as CCENT, CCNP, CCDP, CCVP, CCSP and CCIP, complete the program within a specified time-frame. By passing all of the required exams within the specified time period as noted above, candidates demonstrate that they are tested on current content. In situations where the period exceeds three years, candidates will need to re-take those exams that expire.

CCNA course certifications are valid for three years. To recertify, pass the ICND2 exam, or pass the current CCNA exam, or pass a CCNA Concentration exam (wireless, security, voice), or pass any 642 - XXX professional level or Cisco Specialist exam (excluding Sales Specialist exams), or pass a current CCIE or CCDE written exam.
