hello all,
One of our cisco 4500 series L3 switch is not accepting "no switchport" comand on its Gig port. As of now the port is L2.
Giving below message after executing command "no switchport" on gig interface:-
Cisco_4507_Switch#no switchport
Command rejected: Not a convertible port.
++++++++++++++++
IoS version on the switch is :-
System image file is "bootflash:cat4000-i9k91s-mz.122-20.EWA4.bin"
cisco WS-C4507R (MPC8245) processor (revision 4) with 524288K bytes of memory
What could be the reason for the message ...how to overcome the problem..
Regards

Hi Jimmy.
What kind of Supervisor do you have?
Also, the snip you show looks like you're not in conf t mode - is that right?

are you under interface mode?
from your prompt you are under the exec mode.
you must enter one interface then issue the command
switch#config t
switch(config)# interface gig 1/15
switch(config-if)#no switchport

Depends if your supervisor card can do L3.
