Running Configuration backup through FTP

can anyone advice How to take the configuration backup from switches through FTP. And which software is used for the same.

I use a free tftp server, sorry to use the name here but its by 3com!

Up to you really, any standard FTP server will do so just pick your favourite. Linux/Unix systems usually come with an inbuilt FTP server, Windows used to have it with IIS but not so sure now but there are many freeware versions out there that you can google for.
