We have a legacy PBX which our analog fax lines are located. All calls made from a fax machine or received enter and exit through our Cisco 2821 Router. We are getting alot of failed outgoing faxes. Can someone suggest something we need to do, possibly reprogramming the router??
Thank You

Begin checking "show controllers T1" for slip errors.
10-14-2009 10:25 AM
What does a slip error indicate?
10-14-2009 10:30 AM
A frame alignment mismatch causing fax and modem to fail.
Do you have these errors ?

I will check

in the command prompt is says NMMI2821#
what is the command I should type?

As mentioned above, "show controllers T1".

Configure:
network clock/participate wic 1
network-clock-select 1 t1 1/1
controller t1 1/0/0
clock source internal
And check for slips stopping or increasing.

I tried these settings. The first 2 were already in there.
When I adjusted the clock source to internal for the long distance t1, the errors increased. I have moved it back to a clock source of line. The errors have slowed down, but are still slipping.

Not sure if you configured the right controller or not.
I meant, change clock source internal under controller going to PBX, not long distance.
