hello Christien,

try to see if you can boot from tftp and try to load the image for isis.

I don't understand this part at the beginning of your post:

>> when I used copy tftp flash command the router successfully reload and try to start the copy process, this copy process always failed.

a copy tftp flash shouldn't cause a reload.

Have you been able to write the new IOS image in flash and the the router fails to boot with the isis image, or really it rebooted during file copy?

refer to following doc for recovery from rommon

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps233/products_tech_note09186a008009464c.shtml

I hope you have saved a copy of old image.

Have you also checked the RAM needs of isis image?

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hi Giuseppe,

I have 2 2500 routeurs configure with same flash and memory quantity. The router with which I have problem have an older version of bootstrap than the other.... Tu upgrade the bootstrap what I read we need to change one chip on the board and this router serie is End of life End of support on Cisco.... may be I can finnd newer chip on E-bay, but I was able to upgrade this router to the current IOS with same flash chip...

on both router when we using copy tftp flash command we received a prompt message advertiszed the router will reload (when the router as start normally the flash memory is in read only mode) during the reload the file transfers should work at this time (what I had with the working one) but on which I have problem I received error message copy flash failed....

My router have maximum memory RAM and flash possible 16Mb of flash and 16 Mb of RAM.

I have to downgrade the IOS but in 12.3 IS-IS is not in the image for this serie of router and it is in the 12.2 version series....

Hello Christian,

I'm realizing that I've probably never upgraded a C2500 otherwise I would remember this different behaviour of reloading after giving copy tftp flash...

or I'm simply becoming too old to remember?

Best Regards

Giuseppe
