Hello Guy,

sh mgcp statistics on router acting as voice gateway provides already a lot of useful data.

So probably an IP SLA on MGCP may be not needed in real world.

Also you don't need it to trigger SRST for example.

To be noted MGCP is a protocol based on UDP and not on TCP.

depending on your IOS version, I suppose you have a new 12.4T on your device you can refer to the following document:

this a chapter from 12.4T IP SLA configuration guide

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipsla/configuration/guide/sla_udp_jitter_voip_ps6441_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html

Hope to help

Giuseppe

thx for you reply.

MGCP working on both TCP and UDP, and D channel backhaul using TCP, so want to track the TCP connection and setup some conditions using IP SLA to monitor the MGCP connection

or if you have some UDP/ICMP jitter example, I can setup that as well

thx again

Hello Guy,

good point D channel backhauling uses a TCP session you are right on this.

for example of SLA read the document at the link I've provided

Hope to help
