Connecting MSE

We are trying to connect both NICs of the MSE to our server switch. Is there any configuration in the MSE that needs to be done in order to accomplish that task?

What would be the best way to do it?

On the MSE you can run the setup script, or simply use the ifconfig linux commands for the ip addressing.

Either the Ethernet-0 or Ethernet-1 port can be used to transmit location updates to Cisco WCS. However, the Ethernet-0 port is generally configured to communicate with Cisco WCS and the Ethernet-1 port is generally used for out-of-band management. Both ports are configured as part of the installation script described in the "Configuring the Mobility Services Engine" section.

can you use the two ports for redundant connections to multiple switches?

Not a good idea: you want traffic to come in and out the same ethernet interface, else MSE wont work properly.

If your switch port is shutdown for the eth1 interface, then you can surely do that.

In any case, if the IP of the MSE changes, then you need to repush the Self Signed Certificate from WCS to the WLC and MSE so they can establish back again the NMSP session.

So let's say you want redundancy, then you will need to make config changes on the MSE and resync the MSE with WCS.

My personnal suggestion is dont use the second link, it will just create confusion, and in any case, this wont be a High Availability redundancy as configuration changes will have to happen if one link goes down.
