PIX525 version 7.0(1) self reload

Unanswered Question

Start from last few months, one of our PIX firewall start self reload. We cannot find any logging that indicate the PIX crashed, the only thing we get is the short system uptime. We have check the power source and it seems working fine.

Do anyone face the same problem and how to solve it? How to check if it is related to software issue or system unstable?

Check "show crash". If that doesn't show anything (or if it is not recent, check the date) then hook a pc to the console port and check if there is anything useful printed there when it happens next.

BTW, 7.0(1) is 4.5 years old, please consider an upgrade to 7.0(8) or 7.0(8.8) (both available from the download section on cisco.com). It may or may not fix the problem, but it is a good idea anyhow.
