Hi have tested the following and also different combinations but I cannot get the phone to work when I have 2 vlans

vlan 1=data

Phone configuration

Enable Vlans = no

CDP enable=yes

Enable PC Port VLAN Tagging:no

on the switch I have the following

interface FastEthernet0/21
switchport multi vlan 1,2
switchport mode multi
switchport voice vlan 2
spanning-tree portfast

I can ping the pc attached to the phone on vlan 1 but cannot ping the phone which should be on vlan2.

I have tried all sorts of combinations of settings including setting the switch as a trunk but could not get the phone to work.

Can you pls indicate what I am doing wrong pls?

You can't ping the phone beacuase you have only one vlan on your phone. the correct configuration must be as follow in your phone:

Enable Vlans = yes

vlanid=2 (this is the vlan for the ip phone)

CDP enable=yes

Enable PC Port VLAN Tagging:no

pc port vlanid=1

I hope that it helps

Best regards.
