Hello Mohammed,

please post

sh run int gix/y

sh int gix/y

sh ver | inc image

is the module recognized by your router?

what is connected on the other side of the fiber link?

check the type of SFP used in both ends and the type of fiber

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hi

the module is recognised. it is up when i see in the sh ip int bri.

other side is the fiber to copper media converter.

GLC-T copper SFP module is connected to the HWIC.

sh run

no negotiation auto

end

sh int

Thanks

Hello Mohammed,

keepalive is set

but

>>Last input 22:04:16, output 00:00:02, output hang never

and the interface is up/up

This is strange.

IOS version is new.

I will try to look at GLC-T support

what if you shut and then no shut the interface.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

thanks for your reply...

i tred to do that it does not work. i did change the GLC-T SFP but no luck. and yes the HWIC 1GE-SFP does support GLC-T. i did verify this with the cisco document.

There's output traffic but no input traffic. You sure you don't have an ACL on either side of the /30 subnet?

Hi

the /30 link is t the ISP. there is n access lists.

Also the cable is connected to the media converter. I do not see any link on the media converter. however if I connect any other device on the Meda converter, its working perfectly OK.

is there any special config required on the Media converter except the normal interface configuraton?? does HWIC-1GE-SFP with GLC-T work?

Media converter? Why don't you just get a fibre optic SFP instead of the GLC-T?

Maybe it's because with the GLC-T, it won't negotiate duplex and speed. If you move the copper connection to the media converter from the GLC-T to any one of the RJ-45 of your routers (including the config), will you be able to ping across the /30 subnet?

I'm having the same issue. What did you do to resolve?
