On an AS5350XM or AS5400XM, can an "AT" dial string contain commas? E.g.,
would cause the first 11 numbers to be dialed digitally and, after the call is connected, the dialer would pause three seconds and then generate the DTMF tones "987".
The AT command set description for Nextport indicates that it CANNOT (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/routers/access/modem/AT/Command/reference/atnextpt.html).
But, a quick-start hardware guide (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/as5350xm/hardware/quick/guide/53_54QSG.html#wp133758) indicates that the modem does support DTMF generation, which would only be useful for dialing.
I know the older Microcom and MICA modems could, and analog modems certainly can.
