Adding multiple inbound did numbers to a single ephone-dn

I have a user that needs to be able to forward calls from the main line to other extensions.

Currently the main line is assigned to a blast group and they are unable to forward calls to other extensions so that they dont have to walk to the receptionists desk to answer the phone.

The receptionist already has a did assigned which is 9601, her extension is 205. I didnt see an allowance in the cme command reference for more than one secondary number.

The only thing I could think of was to create an ephone-dn (ext 400), point the main did (9600) to it and then set call forward-all to extension 205.

The question is if I do that and 205 has call foward-all set then where do the calls go? Back to the new ephone-dn ext 400, or to the call forwarded destination set by extension 205?

Thanks

If you set it up such that:

DID points to x400 > Call Fwd all to x205 > Call Fwd All to x201 (for example)

The inbound call will route to x201. You could also do this other ways by adding an overlay onto the receptionist's phone on her first line.

If I used an overlay, which I dont use often and am still trying to completely master, am I able to use the DID or do I have to create an ephone-dn for the main line?

For example I interpret from me reading:

if line 1 is currently on a blast group, I would need to add it a new ephone-dn, then add it to an overlay button on the users phone. This would enable the call to be 'call-forwarded' to other extensions when the receptionist is away and sets her call forward.

Currently it is and if she doesnt answer the call then the call goes to the auto-attendant:

ephone-dn 20 dual-line

number 203 secondary 5558881212 no-reg both

label Phone User

description Phone User

name Phone User

call-forward busy 700

call-forward noan 700 timeout 19

ephone 15

device-security-mode none

video

mac-address 0000.1111.2222

ephone-template 16

max-calls-per-button 2

username "user" password 999

type 524G

button 1:20 2m10 3m11

Here the main line was moved to the ephone-dn44, and I think the overlay is set correctly below.

ephone-dn 44 dual-line

number 497

label 9600

description Main Line 1

name Main Line 1

ephone 15

device-security-mode none

video

mac-address 0000.1111.2222

ephone-template 16

max-calls-per-button 2

username "user" password 999

type 524G

button 1o20,44 2m10 3m11d

So based on this example the button 1 overlay gives the phone sets the primary ephone-dn to 20 so that if anyone calls ext 203 or calls her direct extension of 555-1212 the calls will come through. The overlay also addes ephone-dn 44 as a secondary number allowing it to function as a direct line so that it will follow any call-forwarding instructions.

Am I on the right track here?

Thanks,

Johnny
