Emergency Responder and overlapping dialplans/partitions

We support a number of seperate dialplans within a single CallManager cluster in a hosted model. We have a single Emergency Responder supporting a number of customers. Outbound E-911 works great; we can route each call to the local dispatch for that area. The problem is the dial-back feature. The CER maps the ERL number (which appears on the 911 dispatchers display) with the extension of the phone dialing 911, so that if the 911 dispatcher calls the ERL number, the call will be routed to the last phone to dial 911 within that location. However, we have overlapping internal extensions. So if CustB Ext 2000 dials 911, and the dispatcher needs to call back, the call will be routed to CustA Ext 2000, if CustA is ahead of CustB in the CER Route Points calling search space.

The only solution I can think of is to somehow translate the internal calling number to the 10-digit equivalent before it gets to the CER, but I don't know if this is possible. Any thoughts?

Hi!

As CER does not support overlapping dial-plan, the callback will always go to the phones of the partition listed first in the CSS of the

route point.

This is mentioned on the CER guide below:

"The dial plans must be unique between all Cisco Unified Communications Manager clusters supported by a Cisco ER cluster."

https://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cer/7_0/english/administration/guide/e911ccm.html

The only thing you can do is as you said make the necessary changes (like Translation Patterns) to use a 10 digit number before reaching CER and the same number

for callback.

Teresa.
