WVC210 Two way audio echo cancel?

Unanswered Question
Oct 21st, 2009

Hello,

We are using old IP cameras with micro and we face echo problems. (Common sound in camera and watcher room)

I see that the WVC 210 has a two way audio mode and was wondering if it includes built-in acoustic echo cancellation?

If not, is there any directshow filters compatible with it to correct the audio stream with an AEC filter?

Thanks a lot for the information.

I have this problem too.

Good question.    I only find this in the data sheet:

2-way audio with built-in microphone (6 mm, -40 db +3 db)

So I am asking the Engineering team inside Cisco to see if we can get you an answer.

Thanks for your patience,

The WVC210 does not have echo cancellation. One way to reduce echo is to use half duplex mode or not have the external speaker too close to the to the camera.

Thank you both for your quick response.

Too bad that there's no built-in AEC in this camera.

Both viewer and cam room watch the same television program and the tv speaker volume cannot be moved away the microphone.

I was wondering, do you have another ip cam with two ways audio and echo cancel?

If not, I'll try to use an external headset with unidirectionnal micro...

I'm sorry but we don't. External mic maybe the only solution for you.
