DATA _CRC_ERROR on GBIC

HI,

Can anyone help on this. Actually i am connecting cisco 3560 and 2960 through SFP. When i connect the port it is goes to error disabled state.And i am getting this error

%GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-VN_DATA_CRC_ERROR: GBIC in port Gi0/22 has bad crc

PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: gbic-invalid error detected on Gi0/22, putting Gi0/22 in err-disable state

ios verion of 2960

flash:c2960-lanbasek9-mz.122-44.SE6/c2960-lanbasek9-mz.122-44.SE6.bin"

ios version of 3560

flash:c3560-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEE2/c3560-ipbase-mz.122-25.SEE2.bin"

What i have to resolve this issue .

Hi.

Are you using Cisco-supplied SFP or is it third-party SFP? If it is the latter, that's most probably the cause.

There is a command (a hidden one) which enables the switch to accept third-party SFP. It is "service unsupported-transceiver". Be aware, though, that if you use that command, Cisco reserves the right to not provide you service in case of problems if they deem the third-party SFP to be the cause of problem.

You might have to upgrade to newer versions than the ones you have (especially on the 3560) to have the support for the command.
