Password change for root user through dbadmin and password reset tool
Beginning with WCS 4.1, there is a supported method for recovering
access to WCS, if the root account password is lost. Here is the
procedure:
1. Log into an account with root (administrator) privilege on
the host operating system
2. Stop WCS.
3. In a terminal window, cd to the WCS bin folder (for example,
C:\Program Files\WCS4.1\bin)
4. Enter the following command:
passwd root-user
Use "passwd -h" to get help.
5. Start WCS
Prior to WCS 4.1, there is no supported method for recovering
access to WCS, if the root account password should have been lost.
Hope this helps!

There is a way to recover the password prior to 4.1 but we only provide this in TAC as it involves replacing certain files.
As Rob said: run the passwd.bat file from the WCSX.x\bin folder. You are most likely with a newer version of WCS than 4.0

Hi,

Yes it is. Please open a TAC case, they can do that for you. This can not be provided on this forum.
