Solved: Issue with ISDN BRI and CUCM 7

Hi,

I have a CUCM version 7.0.2 and a Cisco router 2811 as a voice gateway with IOS 12.4(23) spservices.

This router is linked to PSTN (Italy) with ISDN BRI (module VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE).

The protocol that CUCM uses to communicate with the gateway is MGCP.

I notice these problems:

- when an incoming call arrives the phone associated with the public number rings only once but the caller continue to hear ringback tones

- when I try to make an outbound call from the phone, I received a fast busy tone

I check the Partition, Route Pattern and Calling Search Spaces but it seems that these parameters are rightly configured.

I notice that, after executing the command debug isdn q931 on the gateway, there is a log only on incoming calls.

Does anyone help me?

I had a similar issue on 2811 BRI ports:

turning to IOS 12.4(24)T2 (ED) worked for me.

My recommendation is that you use H.323 or SIP to the GW. There are too many problems and bugs when using MGCP.
