Is there a best practice for the amount of Mailboxes recommended for a single Exchange 2003 mailstore ?

I am aware that Mailbox limits can be enforced, but my question is how many boxes, not how much storage

Exchange 2003 Mailstore = 395GB

This is a Voicemail only Deployment

Environment Information:

Back end is Exchange 2003

Unity version = 5.0(1.0)

Patches installed:=CU5.0(1)_ES80

recommended number of mailboxes per a Exchange 2003 server is 5000,

TO view total number of mailboxes on exchange server,

-Go to ADUC, under Action Toolbar menu choose Find. On the Exchange tab

select users with mailboxes.
