Hello all,
do you know of any phone that will be able to automatically create a proxy and vpn to an ASA when you plug it in to the internet?

There was a SIP phone called the Zultys ZIP4x5 that had VPN built in and could do something like you described, but I don't think they are made any more. Also, it wasn't exactly 'automatic' you would have to preconfigure the VPN settings before deploying. I think you will need to put something like a 851 at the remote site and have the VPN configured before plugging the phone in.

I found this example configuration for ZIP4x5 to PIX.

If you really want to do this I *might* be able to find these phones for you.

I never tried, but they are SIP, so you should be able to like any other 3rd party SIP for better or worse..

Maybe a dumb question here but would a ASA Phone Proxy work for you situation instead?
