Hi,

Can i know what is the acceptable value of an output drop in an interface?

Thanks.

It depends. A high drop-rate on an output interface is mostly an indication of a bandwidth issue.

It may also be caused by real time traffic which is prioritized and hence causes packets to be dropped from the less preferred queues. I cannot tell which of the above is the case.

You should check the average load on the interface to see whether it operates near its bandwidth limit.

As Leo notes "It depends."

As a very rough rule, most TCP traffic will not be too adversely impacted if drop rate is under 1% end-to-end. For other protocols, depends on the needs of the application using it.
