dear team,

in normal case, we used to configure local pref between ibgp nei under single AS means more that one routers, but i configured LP on single router for deciding outgoing trafffic path and ITS WORKING FINE and cisco says that "it is not recommended to use LP on single router" why is it so? any special reason?

thanks and regards

sourabh

Cisco has " weight " (Cisco proprietry) attribute which can be used instead of LP on a single router to prefer the outgoing traffic path.

HELLO,

but why not LP since i am getting same results configuring LP on single router same as weight..

Thanks and regards,

sourabh

dear friends,

pls clarify me ASAP

thanks and regards

sourabh

LP changed on a single router [esp. router with eBGP routes] is the way preferences are set for routes in an AS. Using LP on a single router should be fine.

Where are you seeing the statement to the contrary?

Thanks.
