watch button goes busy with CIPC

Answered Question

Hey,

i'm having some problems with the watch feature on the uc500. i have the following set up:

ephone-dn 1

number 100

ephone-dn 2

number 200

ephone-dn 3

number 300

ephone 1

type 7960

mac 1234.1234.1234

button 1:1 2:3

ephone 2

type CIPC

mac 2345.2345.2345

button 1:1 2:3

ephone 3

type 7960

mac 3456.3456.3456

button 1:2, 2w1

ephone 3 watches the ephone-dn1. so, the user with ephone 1 uses also a CIPC for homeoffice. if the CIPC is not running and not registred to the CME,  user 2 with ephone 3 get a busy on the button.

is this a bug or "works as designed"?

i've tested this with cme 4.2, 7.0.1 and the latest early developer release and also different CIPC releases.

I think this is working as designed. Watch mode is not recommended for shared DNs.

"If the watched directory number is a shared line and the shared line is not idle on any phone with which it is associated, then in the context of watch mode, the status of the line button indicates that the watched phone is in use"

As per above, ephone 3 will get busy on the watch button.
