we are planning to put redundant SUP 2 for our CAT 6506
Currently the CAT 6506 is booting from boot system flash disk0:s222-advipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-18.SXF10a.bin so the secondary SUP 2 which I am inserting whether it should also be boot from disk 0
Can I know what is difference between Slot0 and Disk 0
Is it depence on the compact flash ?
Thanks

It depends on the hardware.
Some hardwares call their flash card compartiment: slots and other hardware call them disk.
So depending on what platform you are on it will use either:
slot0, slot1 OR disk0, disk1.
you can not use disk0 on a platform that uses slot0.
In your case on sup2 it's disk0:, disk1:

Thanks for your reply
so it depends on the PCMCIA Flash card
Currently we using the SUP 2 in SLOT 1 of the 6506 chassis
now we are going to put the same IOS and same model SUP2 on the SLOT 2 of the 6506 chassis
In live can we put the secondary SUP ?
i am configured SLOT 1 SUP redunanacy mode as SSO
what is difference between RPR+ and SSO ?
in this condition SLOT 1 will be master and synch all config to SLOT 2
Am i right

For the older ATA flash cards, I believe 20MB and below, the file system name was Slot0:, now with the higher capacity compact flash cards the switch calls the file system disk0: or disk1: depending which slot you use in the sup.
