VLAN and VTP errors

Hi,

we had the following message error during the boot up of one switch 3550:

%SW_VLAN-4-VTP_INTERNAL_ERROR: VLAN manager received an internal error 4 from vtp function vtp_get_domain_info: No such domain

-Traceback= 935ABC 936208 FEF940 231434 236728 231784 237200 139BE04 139BE80 236EE4 2355C4 2368B4 3CE878 2EB90C 2EBF4C C05EC

The error appeard also in other switch that is configured in hsrp with this one.

Here is the show vtp status and show vtp counters.

Can you please attach your show version. This is a bug most likely or a corruption of vlan.dat.

Try deleting vlan.dat and rebooting see if the messages goes away.

I tryed to found any bug on this but without success.

Do you think that the vlan.dat it's corrupted in both the switches?

There is no bug filed for this version of code.

Is this traceback happening on both? or just one of them?

Can you try to remove your vlan.dat. Make sure to save your vlans as you will have to re-enter them.

Can the reason of this be that both switches are configured as vtp servers, in the same domain and with currently they have the same revision number?

its ok for both to be servers. revision matches that means they are up to date and vtp communication is OK.

true...

so the best for now it's proceed with the delete of the vlan database.
