4-digit dialing from Analog Centrex to DID Stations

We are running UCM 6.x and have migrated over 2,500 phones from Centrex to DID stations and IP phones. Guests come into certain sites and need to contact caseworkers from analog phones where the lines are partially restricted by the phone company. Full restrictions on the lines will not work with the DID station #s but with the Centrex. Partially restricted analog #s disallow long distance but allow callers to contact IP phone users AND dial locally. However, callers are on the phones for long periods of time which is undesireable. We have suggested that the analog phone lines be migrated to DID stations and cutover to IP phones. I suspect that we can setup a new CSS to restrict the phones to dialing only #s that are DID/IPT stations. Pls confirm that I am thinking of this correctly.

Hi Robin,

You are most correct my friend :) You can narrow/restrict the abilty make Local calls and only allow calls that are DID/IPT phones. We have many levels of restriction from full-on to almost nothing when it comes to where you can call.

Cheers!

Rob
