Solved: Common services 3.1.1 Process problem

Hi,

Some of the process such as CS Discovery,EDS-TR,FH Purge task,in common services 3.1.1 are never started and also transient terminated even though when i manually go and start them.

CVDeviceSelector.log is not rotating after specifying in below command:

NMSROOT\bin\perl NMSROOT\bin\logrot.pl -c

for rotation:running logrot

D:\progra~1\cscopx\bin\perl D:\progra~1\cscopx\bin\logrot.pl -s

Attached is the log file for process of LMS 3.0.1 with common services 3.1.1

No, EDS-TR should never run, and FHPurge is only run periodically. It is quite common to see it as never started.

These process should be down in normal operation. CSDiscovery is a transient process that only runs when a Discovery is running. When Discovery ends, the CSDiscovery process will be in transient terminated. Do NOT try and start these processes manually.

Hey Joe,

what about EDS-TR and FH Purge process they are shown as never started though i have seen them as normal operation before facing this problem.

No, EDS-TR should never run, and FHPurge is only run periodically. It is quite common to see it as never started.
