UCSS renewal question

Our customer bought their UC solution through another Cisco partner. Their SMARTnet, ESW and UCSS (?) are expiring around now and they want to renew all three through us (a different Cisco partner). They have 30 days to do it after UCSS expiration. Customer is not 100% sure if they had only ESW or if they had ESW+UCSS. If they don't have UCSS, that means they can't renew UCSS now. Is there any way for me to find out if their ESW contract had UCSS registered to it? If I go to the PUT tool right now, I don't see any orderable software available under their ESW contract number. Could this also mean that they bought ESW+UCSS in the past, but nobody bothered to activate UCSS PAK to tie it to their ESW? What do we do in that case, can we still renew ESW and UCSS? And I guess the last question is what happens if they didn't have UCSS and they still buy UCSS now?
