7920 and Autonomous 1242 Signal Stregth Threshold

Hello, I have six 7920 phones attaching to four 1242 autounomous APs. In a retail store environment. Users have complained about calls becoming distorted or dropping quite frequently. I can see the phones roaming from AP to AP and the lowest signal strength I have seen it hit before roaming was -71. I am not sure if there is a way to set the RSSI cut off to something like -60 for that WLAN, if there is, could someone provide details on how to do so? Or if someone has experiened similar issues, what was the workaround? Thanks in advance.

Audio quality will still be ok at -71 dBm.

In retail environments, there is potential for multipath and an 802.11b client with a non-diversity antenna may not work well unless using the lower data rates only (i.e. 1 & 2 Mbps).

Would recommend to move to the 7925 which offers 802.11a, which is also quite a bit more rugged than the 7920.

Offers Bluetooth for wireless headset communications as well.
