Hi, I have 250 number of switches in my network. I have setup one NTP Server Switch also. Connection to all switches to NTP server Switch is L3. How much bandwidth NTP will use in the network, please suggest.

Hi Rupesh,

I have the understanding that the NTP configurations are already in place.

In this case you could enable "ip nbar protocol-discovery" on the interfaces where you are interested about bandwidth consumption.

The "show ip nbar protocol-discovery" command will show you (among others) the number and byte count of NTP packets that have been input or output on the interface during the period since nbar protocol-discovery was enabled.

From these data you will be able to calculate the average bandwidth consumption of NTP for each affected interface per direction of flow.

Cheers:

Istvan
