show int G0/X --pause input

Hi netpro :

I have a WS-C3560G-24TS, one GE port connects to SP device,their ethernet port(100/full).everything looks good, but I watch lots of pause input ,almost several thousands,what's the cause ?

hello Herman,

SP connected device is sending IEEE pause frames to your switch port in a hope to slow down your device sending rate.

the root cause is that they have flow control outbound enabled on their device.

if you have input flowcontrol disabled those frames are simply ignored if it is enabled each frame asks a 512 byte equivalent time of silence to your device
