Dram in 3845 router

I have some 3845 routers with 25MB Dram, time has come to upgrade to 512MB

is there antway to determine the existing Dram is 1 x 256MB or 2 X 128MB

obviously if it is 1 x 256MB then I only need to get another 256MB to bring it up to 512MB, but if it is 2x 128MB then would have to get a 512MB twice the cost!

These routers are in production so want minimum downtime,so is there a command that will tell you where the memory is located slot0/slot1 on the main CPU board??

Hi Richard,

I think It is one 256 DRAM

256 to 512MB DRAM (single DIMM) Factory upgrade for 3800

Here is more info:

Mate,

I believe the 3800 has only ONE DRAM slot. You can always e-bay your excess stock.

Thnks guys,

I think the same, pity there is not a show command to verify

Cisco never made a router with more than one DRAM slot. It used to be two Flash slots until the 2690/3700 when they started using Type 2 CF.
