I would like to annouce there is a new firmware version for the SA500 series security appliance available for download on the Cisco website.

Yes, this does fix the NAT issue.  The release notes are worded poorly.  It should have a resolved section.  1.0.17 fixes the one to one NAT problem.

i see a newer firmware available SA500-K9-1.0.39 and still says the above bug is a known issue

I talked to the documentation team about this.  The bug was written and had two problems.  First was that having a second IP address being forwarded into the system did not work.  That part if fixed, the part that isn't fixed is using a computer on the private network, accessing the public IP of the system, and being forwarded to the local IP address.  In other words, hairpining is still not fixed.  That is why it remains as a known issue.
