Hi,
I would be thankful if someone solve this issue.....
Scenario:
In Layer 3 switch ,Int Gi0/10 - which is connected to ISP . We have assigned the VLAN 10 to that physical interface (Gi0/10 - where the ISP connection terminate). We are able to see the drops in the Vlan (SVI) interface but not on the physical interface . Meanwhile we are getting alert from our monitoring system saying that "Discard rate for port Vlan is 100%", threshold value for monitor is 1%"
We have not assigned any interface to this particular VLAN (10) . From the Vlan status we are able to see the 'drops' ,but not discards.Meantime, my monitoring system(Opmanager) says that 'Discard'
I hope ,Drop & Discard are different . If not kindly let me know the difference & and also the solution for this issue.
Waiting for your Valuable reply....

Hello watersplitters,
you have at least one L2 port in Vlan10 that is your gi0/10.
I don't see any error in the sh int vlan10 that you have posted.
This makes me think of an issue, a misunderstanding in the network management software
provide more information, like switch platform and IOS image running on the box to get better help
Hope to help

Hi Giuslar ,
I hope this is the information ur looking for ..
Model : WS-C3560G
SW Image : C3560-IPSERVICES-M
software version : 12.2<35>SE5
Network Monitoring Software = Opmanager
In our setup , we have many Layer3 switches; we never faced such drop in any of the vlan interfaces .Is it possible to find the rootcause for the drop in this particular vlan (10).
Hope for help...
