Hello Arjun,

when you say you have removed a GE module you mean a linecard with multiple GE ports or simply a GBIC?

I've never seen this error but I had similar experiences including crashes on C7500 when I inserted a VIP linecard.

The following is the feedback provided by error message decoder at http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Errordecoder/index.cgi?action=search&index=all&locale=en&query=%25BACKPLANE_BUS_ASIC-4-DEV_RESET%3A&counter=0&paging=5&links=reference&sa=Submit

Recommended Action: No action is required if traffic recovers. Otherwise, copy the message exactly as it appears on the console or in the system log.Research and attempt to resolve the issue using the tools and utilities provided at http://www.cisco.com/tac. Hello Giuseppe

Thanks for our reply. I had removed Linecard itself. But while doing that activity I saw that other modules were also affected. Do you think

it is sw defect? I do not see any good bug matching with our situation.

Best Regards

Arjun

Hello Arjun,

I think it is more likely an hardware issue.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
