Macintosh clients dropping connections

Over the summer, we replaced some 3548 and 2950 switches with 2960G switches. About a month ago, users started reporting that their Macintosh computers were experiencing dropped network connections and long logout times. There are no problems with Windows PC's, IP enabled security cameras or Cisco phones. Just the Macintosh computers. All ports are configured the same:

switchport access vlan 100

spanning-tree portfast

spanning-tree bpduguard enable

Do I need to set the speed and duplex on the ports connecting the Macs to 100 full instead of auto? Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Steve

Hello Steve,

have you verified that STP bpduguard has not been triggered on ports where MACs are connected?

have you enabled automatic recovery for BPDU guard?

it is the only feature configured on port that could cause issues

Hope to help

Giuseppe
