Catalyst 2948G L2 Problems

Hey is there any way to get configuration software for the 2948G-L2 Switch? I bought 2 from a lady that said she hadnt used them for a couple years and lost the software for them, I got them for way cheep and she didnt give me any papers with cisco tech support info or order numbers. I would like to use them to do LAN gaming in a warehouse type situation and have XBOX's and PC's accessing them at the same time, i dont know if that would be a problem but i would like to be able to use them instead of just having two blue bricks with holes in the front...

what exactly are you trying to do? reset the pass? upload new firmware? setup a config of some sort?

Hello Derrik,

you need to access them using a console cable.

you don't need any special software to access them, hypeterminal is enough.

After you get control of them you will be able to telnet to them and to configure them for L2 LAN switching.
