trying to modify interop mode received this error message

what does it mean ?

do i need to shutdown vsan first ?

thanks for any advice or pointer

I don't think you need to suspend a VSAN to change the interop mode.  You can issue this command to see if CFS (Cisco Fabric Services) has any application locked for that vsan 'show cfs lock'.  If you see any application that has the swtich locked, you can issue the command 'xxx abort' while in configuration mode where xxx is the application that currently has the CFS lock.
