SRST - Device priority

Hi I understand the limitations of SRST on 2800 series routers is 100 connections, is it possible to set priority on certain IP phones over others, ie allow 7941/61 over 7911?

Thanks for your help

Brendan

Yes, you can control this by device pool. Put the phones that you want to register with SRST in a device pool that contains an SRST reference, the other phones in a device pool that does not.

Hope this helps.

If you want to use Device Mobility, you will be forced to put these phones into different subnets though.

DM is only capable of mapping phones to device pools based on the subnet they are currently in.

DM is only capable of mapping phones to device pools based on the subnet they are currently in.

So I would need to create a new vlan for DM users, config DM user switch interfaces to reflect new vlan, assign this group to a device pool as well as create a device pool for 7941 and 7961 devices. How do you change all IP phones of one type to a pool, bulk administration? Thanks again

Device Mobility has nothing to do with users. It changes the device pool a phone is using dynamically based on the subnet it currently resides in. If you want to turn on device mobility and still want SRST to map up correctly, you will need to be able to state that all phones in subnet X have SRST, or don't, and use reference Y. That is because all phones in a subnet with device mobility enabled will be forced in to the device pool you specify on the Device Mobility Information.

Also, you are able to change the device pool using Update Phones within BAT.
