Using WRVS4400N for DHCP relay on remote IPSec VPN LAN

Hi,

I have a WRVS4400N. I want to know if it is possible to configure the WRVS4400N DHCP relay to look for a DHCP server on the remote LAN. The local LAN is 192.168.2.0/24 and the remote LAN is 192.168.1.0/24. I entered 192.168.1.100 in the DHCP relay server field but my local PC does not get an IP address. So, I would like the local PC to get a DHCP 192.168.2.x IP address from the remote DHCP server (LAN) across the IPSec VPN tunnel. Is this possible?

The IPSec tunnel is functioning. I can ping the remote 192.168.1.100 DHCP server, if make the local PC a 192.168.2.x static IP address. I have setup the DHCP server with a 192.168.2.x/24 IP range.

The remote VPN router is a Netgear FVS114.

Thanks,

Nic

The wrvs4400n will not allow you to do the dhcp relay through the vpn tunnel.  You might have to get a enterprise solution for that or a point to point connection to have both of the networks on the same lan setup.
