Inbound SIP Trunk Call Failure/Fast Busy

Unanswered Question
Dec 1st, 2009

Hi All,

Seems we are running into an issue that was discussed before and also listed in the following bug on a UC540W / CCA2.2

After debugging, the From/Contact header IPs from the provider are specified in CCA under SIP trunk setup.

The debugs also show multiple VIA Headers, for example:

Via: SIP/2.0/UDP x.x.x.x;

Via: SIP/2.0/UDP x.x.x.x;

If we add the additional IPs specified in these additional VIA headers as 'allowed IPs', the inbound calls still fail with a fast busy.

If we remove access-list 2 from the voice source-group CCA_SIP_SOURCE_GROUP all inbound calls work perfectly.   Unfortunately, removing this ACL may open up the device for potential toll fraud issues.   We are trying to determine what options are available to get inbound calls functional without creating security issues.

Are there any workarounds for this issue?

I have this problem too.

Unfortunately, there is no other workaround than removing the ACL.  I am not sure when the fix will be integrated into another release, but I will keep you up to date.

Thanks for confirming -- Hopeful there is a fix on the way to correct this.

You bet - the fix has already been tested and is undergoing sanity. Should be in the next 8.0 SW pack that will be posted.
