Hi,
router Cisco 7206VXR (NPE-G2), ( which is configured as NTP master for all the core devices in network;) which has problem a with its clock. The Router always falls behind its scheduled time even after re-configuring the clock number of times to match the current time.
Please let me know the root cause of the same.
configuration as mentioned below -
ntp clock-period 17177542
ntp master
ntp server 172.31.10.6 ( IP Of this Router Itself)

You shouldn't rely on the internal clock from a router to provide time for the rest of the network. It is very unreliable and it was not designed as such. If you have an internet connection, I recommend pointing this router to a public NTP server for accurate clock information and point the rest of devices in your network to this router. With this design, the router will serve as a NTP gateway.
